1976 - 1999

The conservation group took care of the property and protected the natural resources, but for some reason this group decided to sell in 1999 to an out-of-state company who, in hindsight, intended to develop and in fact took steps to do so, all the while incurring a negative reputation in the area for its business practices. At some point this company skipped town.

All the while, the surrounding areas of Sapphire and Little Switzerland were growing, homes were being built, and the rest of the world was continuing to realize how special the area was for living.
